Features
The Liquid Shield system by Pumpables is different from traditional hard flange systems because it contains a soft interior insert, the Liquid insert. This is made out of lovely soft liquid silicone, and it works very differently from a traditional flange.
The Liquid insert moulds to the breast tissue, and provides a soft environment for the nipple to be drawn down. Because the Liquid insert is full-length, and extends all the way from the breast right past the nipple, there are no edges or friction, just a nice comfortable material of liquid silicone.
As the Liquid insert is flexible, when your breast pump applies suction the Liquid insert will actually collapse down around your nipple, which helps compress and massage the nipple. This mimics the way your baby's palate compresses the nipple when she is breastfeeding.

The best shield size will fit snugly around your nipple, with no areola.
We know it can be confusing figuring out shield sizing, so we really recommend you get in touch if you need fitting help.
Tip most pumpers are using too large a shield, so have us help if you're not sure 💁.

This shield fits with wide neck bottles. If you're using narrow neck bottles, you can still use Liquid Kit with a wide to narrow bottle neck adaptor (or just buy some cheap wide neck bottles).
Breast pumps
The Liquid Kit is a closed system, so you can use it with any pump (i.e. Spectra). You must use the entire Liquid Kit when pumping (you cannot use just the Liquid insert with breastshields from another range).
The Liquid Kit comes with a standard sized silicone tubing, but some pumps i.e. Medela need a connector attached to the end of the tubing in order to connect it to the pump. If you're using a pump that has a tubing connector between tubing and pump, you may not be able to use Liquid Kit.

I’m a bit of a pump collector and I have to say the super genie with liquid shield kits is the best thing since sliced bread!!! It has made pumping at work so comfortable, I look forward to my next pump session! The liquid inserts are little silicone clouds for your nips!! If you are on the fence, DO IT!

I’m beyond grateful to have found Pumpables in general but especially their Liquid Shield Kit - it has made my relactation journey with my second baby so much easier and less stressful. The inserts really do mimic breastfeeding and causes my let down and overall pump time to go much faster. I recommend these to any and all mommas!

United StatesComfortable but annoying to clean
Took me a bout a week to stop feeling any sort of discomfort but now it’s super comfortable. You have to make sure you get your size right before you can maximize comfort. I think these get milk out better than regular plastic flanges for me without having to do compressions which is great! It is annoying to clean though haha. I use legendairy milk’s spray and it’s perfect. For some reason though when I go to level 7 suction or above, one side’s back flow protector kind of releases/looses suction. I think there might be a defect somewhere but it works fine at 6 so that’s the level I use.

The liquid shields saved me from so much pain (I had been using 18 plastic spectra flanges) and switched to the 15 liquid shields. For me the smaller sizes reduced if not majorly eliminated the nipple pain that nearly caused me to stop doing all this! In this pic I got a total of 5.75 oz in 25 minutes (for me this was a major increase in output and I’m not an oversupplier). The only drawback is the entire kit mechanism is very delicate and I feel like I have to put it together meticulously every time. Be careful with the duckbill part of the liquid shield so the bill doesn’t start to pucker. I only pump 2x a day as I primarily breast feed and I think I’ll be replacing the liquid shields every 3 weeks.

I love the design of these flanges and really REALLY wanted them to work for me ( i purchased several insert sizes and did fitting room), but they did not. The good: I love the look and feel, the weight balance…and dont even mind the many parts. The bad: Unfortunately these flanges are just too shallow for my elastic ladies, which hit the back of the flange even two sizes down from my measured best fit. Unfortunately that meant both discomfort and lower output. I am super sad it didn’t work out but would def recommend to those who aren’t dealing with similar issues. If the made a long version, I’d definitely give them a try. Also, these are lovely, but they feel like silicone flanges, not like clouds on your boobs or some of the other hyperbole I’ve seen online.

After reading several positive reviews I decided to purchase the liquid shield kit size 15mm. I did their fitting room and 15mm was the size recommended to me. I believe the 15mm might be a little on the small size, so I also purchased the 17mm. Both the 15 and 17mm work great and are so easy to clean. I have very elastic nipples so these flanges work great compared to others I have tried!
